It is very strange to know that Leh-Ladhak is part of India but still you can not use Your own SIM cards there so Either you do not use your phone at all or the other option is that you have to Buy a new SIM card from Leh city “Yes you can buy SIM card Directly from Leh without any Problem” by using your Adhar card, Voters ID, Driving license and that card is instantaneously activated. Which Car can Go to Leh-Ladhak
You must be wondering that which car is best for travelling to Leh Ladhak. Well if you would have asked me the same question in the year 2014 then i would have said go for a bigger car then you won’t have any problem but now “Trust me” Even a Tata NaNo Car can go to Leh-Ladhak. The reason is that now every tourist destination is connected with Tarmac Road so there is no problem at all in using any Car.
How Much Money You should Carry
See there is one thing that you have to carry with you that is Money. See there is still issues with the connectivity so there are issues with the Gpay, Upi payment or any form of the Online payment or simple card payment is not there so you need to carry a good amount of cash with you. you should carry around 15k per person with you. that will be sufficient.
There is a major problem with the Ladhak weather as there is less oxygen as compared to the plains. The local people are adapted to this climate so there is no problem for then in particular. But when we as tourist arrive at ladhak then there is problem of Low oxygen level, Headache, nausea and tiredness. so when you visit ladhak then you should not start immediately roaming around but just rest for sometime, acclimatize for some time then start anything else.
Also if you need some oxygen then you can rent oxygen cylinder from a local shop in Leh City and carry it with you always so that when you need it you can always use it.
In ladhak there is very shortage of having petrol pump on the road. But still if your car is giving a mileage of 10KM/L then once you have fueled up your fuel tank then you can easily reach your next destination and there you can refuel it up.

Bikes/Cars on Rent
Having your own car in Ladhak is like a piece of mind but you can always rent the Bikes there the cost is variable according to the season. for your reference the cost for bike may go up to INR-3000/- for Royal enfield Himalayan for 4 Days. But you can-not rent Self-drive cars in Ladhak region instead you can get a TAXI who will take you everywhere you wanted to go you just have to pay. I think this option is better if you are not a pro biker.
