ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES 2023

Electric Vehicles nowadays becoming a hustle in the Indian Automobiles world. As the demand for Electric Vehicles increases day by day, it’s important to know about the advantages  & disadvantages of Electric Vehicles.

In this blog, we will learn about the advantages  & disadvantages of Electric Vehicles.  Electric Vehicles are one of the finest possible alternatives to the traditional engine car which is growing environmental pollution and a growing fuel price.

Before reading, about the advantages & disadvantages of Electric Vehicles, we should know exactly, what is Electric Vehicles.

WHAT IS AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE?

An Electric Vehicle is either partially or entirely powered by electricity. Electric cars utilize a rechargeable battery pack to power the electric motor rather than a combustion engine. Electric cars have fewer moving components and are very easy to handle.

Electric cars are economically feasible and environment friendly and have many updated modified systems.

Although many of us are suspicious about the widespread usage of Electric Vehicles, let’s discuss its advantages.

ADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES

 Environmentally Safe :

As human beings, it’s our first primary duty to save our environment.  Traditional cars, bikes, and other motor vehicles release toxic gas like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide that pollutes our environment. The best feature of Electric vehicles, they are environmentally friendly.

Electric vehicles do not. Utilize fuel for combustion, there are no emissions of toxic gases or exhaust.

Less Noise Smoother Motion :

Electric vehicles are fewer moving components, these are quieter and produce less noise. No one loves the harsh noise made by cars on running petrol. Electric vehicles are less noise-producing vehicles.

No Fuel :

The rising Price of petrol and diesel has been a source of anxiety for all motorists.  Petrol & Diesel are a limited source of energy, which are being exhausted day by day. Electric vehicles do not require fuel to run.

Low maintenance cost :

Electric vehicles have less number of moving components in comparison to fuel consumption, so the wear and tear cost of Electric vehicles is less. The cost of repair is also not that much.

More convinient :

The design of the Electric vehicle is straightforward and pleasant. When it comes to fuel – Powered cars, they require a significant amount of work to operate. Accidents can occur when breaks and gears fail to operate properly, but Electric vehicles are one of the technology’s most useful innovations.

NATURAL RESOURCE-SAVING :

Electric vehicles do not use fuel (a Limited Resource Of Earth ), and save natural resources, not only saving natural resources but also a step towards keeping our environment safe and pollution free. Electric vehicles significantly contribute towards the conservation of resources. By doing so, we are benefiting the environment as well as future generations.

COST-EFFECTIVE :

Electricity is far less expensive than fuels like petrol, gasoline, and diesel, which are subject to regular price increases. When solar energy is effectively used at home, then the cost of maintenance and charging of battery becomes also affordable.

PARKING FOR A LOW FEE :

Parking of fueled vehicles is expensive.  Hundreds of vehicles are running aimlessly on road today, in such cases designated parking area is created to maintain the traffic jams. Electric vehicle parking is very low and affordable.

GOVERNMENT SUPPORT :

Government throughout the world has supported the production of Electric vehicles. The government granted tax breaks to encourage people to drive Electric vehicles.

The government provides subsidies, and tax rebates, reducing import and export duties to encourage the production of Electric vehicles.

GOLDEN INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY :

As the rising demand for Electric vehicles needs more and more production. Electric vehicles manufacturing companies face very limited competition. If money is invested in making Electric vehicles, it is possible to make a fortune.

DISADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES :

HIGHER PURCHASE COST :

The cost of Electric vehicles is much higher as compared to fuel automobiles. A gasoline vehicle costs bEtween 3 lakhs to 4 lakhs, however, you would be surprised that starting price of an Electric vehicle is 9 lakhs or 10 lakhs.

LOW SPEED AND RANGE :

Electric vehicles will not be able to cover much distance and need to charge at a very short interval . Even Electric cars cannot travel farther at a faster speed than those powered by engines if speed is the issue. This driving range is also very limited in addition to this.

THE INCONVENIENCES OF THE SERVICE STATION :

The utilization of electric vehicles is still in its infancy. As a result, the stations that serve it are similarly built in small numbers. Even after traveling great distances, service locations where vehicles may be refueled with electricity are few and far between.

LESS NUMBER OF CHARGING STATION

The charging stations for Electric Vehicles are still not sufficient as the number of Electric Vehicles is increasing on the road. This is one of the biggest drawbacks of Electric Vehicles because Electric Vehicles need to be charged after short intervals.

LOW ENERGY:

Electric vehicles must be charged regularly, this is the most significant disadvantage.   Aside from that, increasing the weight of these vehicles reduces their capacity. Electric vehicles with little energy and capacity can sometimes fall behind fuel–powered ones.

BATTERY EXPENSE :

Although Electric Vehicles do not utilize gasoline, the batteries that power them are quite powerful. Aside from that, if the battery is not changed within a defined time interval, it might cause the vehicle to be damaged.

SLOW CHARGING:

Electric vehicles need many hours to charge. The Charging of these automobiles is quite sluggish. This is also a disadvantage of Electric Vehicles.

PROBLEM FOR FUEL-PRODUCING COUNTRIES:

Many countries only have relevance because of the fuel they produced. Nations like Iran, Oman, and Saudi Arabia’s economies are powered by the sale of fuel. With the raising demand for Electric Vehicles, these countries face problems. As a result, the popularity of fuelless  Electric Vehicles may prove to be a problem for fuel-producing nations.

CONCLUSION

So, after reading this blog you can easily calculate the benefits and losses of Electric Vehicles. They are a great way to reduce environmental problems but also have certain disadvantages. Nothing is perfect or adequate. Thus, in this blog, we made you aware of the things you should consider before purchasing Electric Vehicles.
